Rheumatology Today
Assessing the Standards for Rheumatology training across Europe
Phase 1 of the project "Assessing the standards for rheumatology training across Europe" led by Sofia Ramiro and Francisca Sivera, European Junior Doctors, and performed under the auspices of the UEMS and EULAR has been completed and has recently been published in the Annals of Rheumatic Disease. The objective of phase 1 was to analyse and compare the national training programmes of the 41 European countries that offer rheumatology post-graduate training. Phase 2 is currently under analysis and the submission process should be started soon.

What are we working on today?
The next step for the Section & Board is to develop an Assessment Strategy that is blueprinted to the Training Requirements/curriculum.
A questionnaire to find out how each member state assesses their doctors in training in the different domains of the Training Requirements is being developed. It will be discussed at the next meeting on June 12 during the EULAR Congress in Rome.
